Whale Watching Perth Set for Daily Departures in 2026 Following Record Demand
Whale Watching Perth will return for the 2026 humpback whale season with daily departures, following strong demand and record passenger growth in 2025.
The locally owned operator welcomed a record number of passengers last year, with numbers increasing by 18% compared to 2024 (12,916 vs 10,927). In response to growing demand, Whale Watching Perth has expanded its schedule from six days per week in 2025 to daily departures in 2026.
The two-hour tours will depart at 9am every day from Hillarys Boat Harbour, with an additional tour at midday on Saturdays and Sundays in September and October. The season runs from 21st August to 9th November.
Managing Director James Mulholland said: "We're excited to welcome guests back for another incredible season and to offer daily departures as demand continues to grow. Our new schedule makes it easier than ever for locals and visitors to experience the magic of the annual humpback whale migration."
Tours will take place aboard Ocean Master, a brand-new vessel which launched into service in 2025. Purpose-built for whale watching with a unique stepped deck, panoramic rooftop and oversize windows, passengers will enjoy unrivalled views as well as live educational commentary from an onboard marine biologist.
Award-winning wildlife and landscape Perth photographer Toby Nicol will be joining a selection of weekend departures to capture humpback whale behaviours, from breaches to tail lobs, on Whale Watching Perth's action-packed tours.
