Pinnacle Travel Group acquires Rottnest Island's The Lane Café, Simmo's Ice Creamery and Havza

Pinnacle Travel Group is excited to announce the acquisition of Rottnest Island's The Lane Café, Simmo's Ice Creamery and Havza, strengthening its extensive portfolio of locally owned and operated experiences across Western Australia.

The acquisition grows the group's existing operations on the island including Rottnest Fast Ferries, the only locally owned and operated ferry service to Rottnest Island, and Quokka Coaches, which provides a hop-on hop-off bus service and a range of sightseeing tours.

Luke Crispin, Founding Director of Pinnacle Travel Group, said: "We are excited to welcome these popular establishments to the group. Rottnest Island holds a special place in our hearts and when the opportunity arose to acquire the businesses, we were instantly drawn to the idea of adding these unique West Australian offerings to the group.”

James Mulholland, Managing Director of Pinnacle Travel Group, added: "We look forward to continuing to provide these great products, and to increase the ways in which we can enhance the experience of island visitors."

Crispin and Mulholland confirmed there are no immediate plans to change the way the establishments operate, with the existing management team remaining in place.

The Lane Café is a popular eatery in Rottnest's main settlement serving barista-made coffee, freshly made juices and smoothies alongside gourmet food using fresh local produce, including the iconic cray dog.

Located next door, Simmo’s Ice Creamery offers an extensive range of ice creams and sorbets, complementing The Lane’s all-day casual dining options.

Havza is a short walk or ride from the main settlement and brings the flavours of the Mediterranean to the shores of one of Rottnest's most iconic bays, The Basin. The restaurant opened in 2024 and operates seasonally from November to June, offering a daily tapas-style menu that combines Aegean-inspired dishes with local Western Australian produce.

Rottnest Fast Ferries and Quokka Coaches have an established relationship with The Lane Café and Simmo’s through existing packages, including a long-running ‘Best of Rotto Combo’ package with same-day return ferries, bike hire, a cray dog from The Lane and a scoop of Simmo’s ice cream.

Pinnacle Travel Group encompasses an extensive portfolio of locally owned and operated transport and tourism brands across Western Australia. In addition to Rottnest Fast Ferries and Quokka Coaches, these include Whale Watching Perth, Lancelin 4x4 Adventures, luxury coach tour company Australian Pinnacle Tours, small-ship cruise companies Kimberley Quest and Great Escape Cruises, and Integrity Coachlines, the only coach service that travels between Perth and Broome.
